Definitions used in this Privacy Policy

“Personal data” means information that relates to you that can be used to identify you.

“CCP” means Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs.

“The Hive” means the CCP intranet.

CCP may also be referred to in this Privacy Policy collectively as “we”, “us” and “our”.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the Hive and the Hive app. We link to other websites over which we have no control. CCP is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other websites.

Information we collect

We may collect personal data about you when you use the Hive. The personal data we collect on the Hive are:

name;

e-mail address;

address;

unit;

job title;

Project;

skills;

photo;

birthday;

Bio; and

Contact telephone number.

In many cases, you will provide this information yourself by submitting information on the Hive or it is provided through the connection to the JHU single sign-on.

For the Mobile App

The mobile application will request access to;

  • Microphone to record audio
  • Phone directly call phone numbers
  • Storage to modify or delete the contents of your shared storage and/or read the contents of your shared storage
  • And view network connections
  • prevent phone from sleeping
  • receive data from Internet
  • control vibration
  • have full network access

You can disable access for these permissions in Settings. Updates to Communifire may automatically add additional capabilities within each group. For more information on Communifire’s privacy policy and terms and conditions, see the Security.

For the Desktop Chat App

The desktop chat app can be downloaded directly to your desktop through the Communifire Documentation, Desktop App. We do not collect information or moderate chats on the Hive, in the desktop app or the mobile app. We do not use the information for analytics or track it in any way. 

How we use and share your information

We process the personal data we collect to allow us to:

analyze the use of the Hive;

provide you with information; and

meet legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.

No data is shared with Axero, Axero the company that provides the software to CCP for the Hive, to improve usability. Axero engineers might request access to their site to see exception logs in case of critical issues.

Use of Cookies on the Site

CCP uses cookies to collect information about you and store your online preferences. Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the website when you return to it: this is useful because it allows the website to recognize your device. CCP takes measures to secure your personal data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure.
